Taj Mahal

Taj Mahal is extracted from a quarry in North-East Brazil. This country is known as one of the largest exporters of natural stone in the world. A continent with breathtaking landscapes that travel the world thanks to this stone.

The Taj Mahal quartzite offers, thanks to its fluid veining and its cream and warm tones, softness and elegance to any décor. This quartzite is more dense, durable and resistant to scratching, comparable to granit, in addition of not being prone to the etching effect experienced with marbles.

During the polishing process, an epoxy resin is applied to the stone’s surface to fill part of its porosity (or pores) and natural cracks that may be apparent. This has no incident on the durability, the maintenance or the beauty of the natural stone. It is possible that certain pores are too small to contain efficiently the resin, and reopen during the finishing stages. However, this does not affect the stone’s quality or appearance. Such as it is the case with many natural stones, it is recommended to apply a sealer to extend its beauty through time.

This natural stone is subject to microfissures, is resined and meshed to make it safe to handle and fabricate. There can be limitations in fabrication, and it may require more time to handle with added care depending on each unique project. It is important to plan all offered options with great care for an optimal result.
